A creative practice, reimagined.

After 26 years working in the creative industry, I’m taking an exciting leap into a new chapter, bringing together my passion for creativity, neuroscience, and Therapeutic Arts.

The Creative Journal is the first part of that journey: a collection of guided creative exercises designed to help you slow down, reflect, and reconnect with yourself through making.

Choose The Creative Journal on its own, or The Creative Bundle, which pairs the book with a grounding ritual candle and oil pastels to create a complete creative practice.

Discover the science of creativity through 100 guided art therapy-inspired exercises.

Inspired by five pioneering figures in art therapy, The Creative Journal combines creativity, psychology, and neuroscience to encourage self-awareness, reflection, and personal growth.

Explore drawing, collage, symbolism, mindfulness, intuitive art-making, and visual journaling through thoughtfully guided exercises with step-by-step instructions, reflection questions, and generous space to create.

Whether you're an artist, a beginner, or simply looking for a creative approach to self-discovery, no artistic experience is required. Each exercise offers an opportunity to create a personal record of your experiences, insights, and discoveries.

Where to Find Art Supplies

You don't need expensive or specialized supplies to make meaningful art. Many of the materials used throughout The Creative Journal can be found locally, second-hand, or already sitting around your home.

Drawing & mark-making
Pencils, coloured pencils, charcoal, pastels, markers and pens can be found at local art supply and stationery stores, but second-hand sets are often just as useful.

Paper & collage materials
Magazines, newspapers, old books, maps, wrapping paper, tissue paper and cardstock make wonderful collage materials. Try thrift stores, recycling bins, used bookstores or your own paper recycling pile.

Found & natural materials
Leaves, stones, sticks, shells, fabric, string, buttons, cardboard and interesting bits of packaging can all become part of your creative practice. Take a walk and see what you find.

Second-hand & swaps
Thrift stores, garage sales, community groups, Buy Nothing groups, and art supply swaps are great places to find inexpensive materials. You may even discover something unexpected that inspires an entirely new direction.

The best supplies are the ones you will actually use. Don't worry about having the perfect materials. Start with what you have, experiment, and let the process lead the way.
